Dynamic Mosaic -
Help
Definitions
Sequence This is a full circle flow from start to finish of
a dynamic change of a picture from the photo mosaic. A sequence encompasses the
timers for Blend -> Show -> Fly -> Pause. The sequence length is the
sum of these timer values. Picture
library A set of hundreds to thousands of pictures that is
used to build the photo mosaic. Each of the library files will be resized to
match with the size of the tile on the photo mosaic. It is recommended to keep
the size of each library picture as close to the minimum required. It's
therefore a good practice to manage the balance between size and
quality: Tile This is a sub-picture of the photo mosaic. A photo
mosaic can exist from hundreds or thousands of tiles. The pixel size of the tile
is set by the value of 'Size' in the 'Mosaic settings' settings. Also referred to as a
'Cell' . Source
picture This is the basis picture of which a photo mosaic
picture is made. The source picture should have pixel dimensions of at least 8
times the amount of tiles on the horizontal and vertical sides. For instance,
when a photo mosaic is made from 80x45 tiles, the source file should at least
have a pixel size of 640 x 360 pixels to assure a good color match. It is
recommended to keep a safety margin of pixel dimensions of 16x the amount
of tiles, so a source pixture size of 1280 x 720 pixels. In case 5-10 MegaPixel
sizes are taken, the quality is not affected but the analysis of the source
picture might take a bit longer (seconds). Initial
mosaic The mosaic that is made from the library of
pictures. This initial mosaic is made at the start of a video sequence and at
the start of the show. The color matching of each of the dynamic tiles is
derived from the initial and original colors. This way all dynamic flying tiles
(substitutes) keep their best match with the original, assuring a good quality
of the photo mosaic impression in due course of the dynamic tile
changes.
