Microsoft Windows versions and Service packs
Calligram Creator has been tested on machines with Windows 7, 8 and 10; both 32 and 64 bit systems. Calligram Creator works on all tested systems with no known issues. Vista, Windows 7, 8 and 10 users need admin rights to install and use the software. Some systems apply strict admin rights, in which case the application might not be fully functional: extensive writing is required to the sub-folders in 'C:\Users\Public\Documents\APP\Calligram Creator' directory. Please consult your system admin to solve these potential issues. In some rare occasions the virus protection software can block the access to the system webcams (e.g. Bitdefender 2018), so the user has to assure that the required system resources are not blocked or denied.
Calligram Creator on Apple computers (Mac OS-X)
Calligram Creator does not run on the native Mac OS-X. It will however successfully work on any Mac on which a Windows bootable system is installed, like with (freeware) Wine, Apple's Bootcamp or install a virtual machine inside Mac OS X, like Parallels or VMWare. See e.g. here for details how to install a Windows system on a Mac. It's a personal choice which route to follow. The application will not work on iOS systems (iPad), nor on Android systems, and not on Win 8.5 tablets.
Application's stability and bug reports
For every new release Calligram Creator
is thoroughly tested. The application is stress-tested by randomly performing a
full Calligram Creation cycle where random pictures are selected, random web-cam
snapshots are made and random queued pictures are processed. Only when the
full cycle of 250 pictures is successfully completed, with an acceptable
output result and without any issue, the release is started. In some rare
occasions (e.g. very uncommon combinations of settings) a bug might pop-up. It's
highly appreciated to report such a bug to us. In most cases the bug report is
saved on the desktop as 'Calligram ErrorLog.txt'. This file contains a possible
clue to what went wrong.
Install and uninstall
By default
Calligram Creator installs itself in 'C:\Program
Files\APP\Calligram Creator'. All user related
files are stored in
'C:\Users\Public Documents\APP\Calligram Creator\' where several subdirectories are
created ( '\Settings',
'\Resources', and
'\Records'). See here for details.
At uninstall Calligram Creator removes itself completely from the 'Program Files\APP\Calligram Creator' location; cleans all traces in the windows registry, and deletes some of the user related files and directories. The folders with user generated Calligram storage are never uninstalled.
