Branding Studio
In the
Branding Studio you can personalize the Calligram
output. In this
station there are a couple of artwork options to add to the
Calligram: It's
important to understand how this Branding Studio works: when no branding action
is done, the Calligram will simply be the plain Calligram bitmap. When any
template, border or icon is added, it will use this as the upper layers, on top
of the Calligram output. The Branding Studio works in layers (not unlike
Photoshop) where the Calligram is always the lowest layer, and all the artwork is place on
top. When you
want to apply e.g. a border, drag the selected border from right to left and
drop the border somewhere in the work area. It will automatically fill out
towards the edges. When you now select an icon picture it will be put on top of
the border. In case you wish to put it below the border, you need to use the
little arrow pointing down, while you have first selected the icon in the work
area. When the arrow is clicked the icon will lower one layer. Multiple layers are
possible. To save the design, simply
press the 'Save design' button, and choose a name for the template. This will add the new
template to the template section, ready to be used for a next time. You can also
make your own templates outside the application (e.g. in Photoshop). As long as
the file is saved as a .psd file and put in the template folder it will be
recognized next
time you open the application. The templates folder is C:\Users\Public\Documents\APP\Calligram Creator\Resources\Artwork\Templates, Please avoid super resolution
templates. The dimensions of the template should ideally be the same as the Calligram, to avoid
unnecessary calculations overhead to read and resize the template each time a Calligram is
created. Finally, please make sure that the .psd template has a background (as a first layer). In case of doubt, re-use an existing pre-installed template and start editing from there.
The 'Discard template' button will
basically erase your currently active template, including all the placed
icons and borders, and leave the design fully empty.
To delete an icon or border,
first select the border in the work area, then press the 'DEL' button on your
keyboard.
